Ellen was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, grew up in Southern Indiana and attended Vincent Christian Church where she accepted the Lord as her Savior at age eight. One of her fondest memories as a child in this church was reciting Psalm 8.

It was in this church she witnessed her parents teach, sing, pray, and worship their Lord–every Sunday, every Wednesday, without fail. It was in this church, she learned the world was bigger than her family and to love and serve others—as church pianist, teaching young adults, Vacation Bible School, youth group and doing mission projects. At age 16 while attending “church camp,” she committed to a life of Christian service.

After moving to Georgia, there were more opportunities in her church to fulfill that life commitment, where she accompanied the choir and taught GAs. After moving to Eatonton in 1985, she began attending First Baptist where she taught Sunday School in the children’s department for 14 years as well as working with Vacation Bible School and serving on the youth committee.
In 1994, First Baptist brought her on staff where she has served for 24 years. Serving with the loving congregation of First Baptist has helped her to continue to grow in her love and compassion for others.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
